I am a Seed

Planted

Nurtured

Lived

Germinated

Matured

Fruitful and now it gives

A word spoken

A kind deed given

These are precious seeds

I am a seed

So too are you

Whose seed do you carry?

I am a seed of another seed

You carry a sown seed

It determines how you live and who you marry

Plant a seed for change,

It may not grow in your life time

But plant it anyway

Many have planted

We are their produce

They live on, once we speak

I pause to honour

The difference they have made

A vital difference in me and perhaps you

A chosen seed

A seed of love

A seed of mercy

A seed of purple or blue

A seed of thoughtfulness too

I am a seed, so too are you

Far from it...

I am perfect…far from it

I am righteous…oh dear, far from it

I am very loving…far from it

I forgive easily…oh man! Far from it

I love the Lord…now I am a bit closer

I want to live with Him forever…now you talking (BIG SMILE)

I am not perfect, but your love is bringing me closer to it

I am not righteous, but you are my righteousness

I am not so loving, especially to those who hurt me, but I am transformed by your love for me

I use to forgive easier before all this madness around me but you are teaching me daily to let it go

Wow!

It is no wonder why I am able to sleep well at nights and live in peace

Because everything I am not, you are

When I am far from you, I am far from all the good and holy things too

All you ask is that I remain close to you

Thank you Jesus

The Love Story

‘A list of thought provoking comments and questions on love’

• The story of the average young searching for love is both confusing and mixed up, but who says that's the way it always have to be...

• Why do you have to make all the wrong selections before arriving at the right one?

Desperate for love we accept God’s reject...

Why so many people in love aren’t willing to forgive each other?

Love makes communication easier; disrespect makes it harder...

The word love means a whole lot of different things to different people and to the same people at times...

Loneliness should not be your main reason to seek love or a companion...

If the mind loves misery it will not find comfort anywhere else...

There is an element of ‘love’ which says, ‘taken for granted’...

Whatever you love sometimes you want more of, I wonder whether that is the case for those who love the poor?

You will do for love what you believe is impossible for everything else.

A love quest often leaves the chased and the chaser blind to others...

When a child loves you he/she believes you are perfect, but as they grow older we teach them to look for faults and hold on to them...

Love is very encouraging to the heart...

My BEST days are the ones I gave love without partiality.

Dog Quarrel

In the still of the night

The cry of grey hounds filled the air

A fierce quarrel among the beasts

Bark, bark, everywhere

They all were speaking at the same time

So what the other said, I could not hear

Brutal, heated words, they were not clear

You dare not grab a dog by its ear

Though they were near, a distant away

I would not dare, I would not dare

A bite may be better than a bark from the beasts

They quarreled louder dangerously quiet a tease

Like pairs of ferocious women

Bitterly they tore each others’ flesh with growls

Barking the clouds from out the sky

No neighbour to calm this flood of fire

Acrimonious sound bites

‘Brown dawg!’

A fight ensued, I knew it

The quarrel wouldn’t last

Midnight only a distant past

Skimpily clod

I knew I had to

Sweep for my sleep

I grabbed the broom, dashed from the room

Breathing heavily

Blood was in my eyes

Too long, in the middle of the streets

A grave wrong had robbed my sleep

I rushed outside so fast

Two huge stones followed me

I tossed the stones and I wielded my broom

The sacred angry dog pack rapidly dispersed

Leaving a wounded lying still

He was too badly bitten

One quarrel

One fight

One sacrifice

Dogs short of fence

Owners starved of sense

Must a child now pay?

Hiding From Myself

I haste,

I haste,

To find a place,

A place beneath,

In this game of hide and seek,

Hide me from myself,

Make me into someone else,

A heart that is 180 degrees to my mind,

Myself I hid, now I try desperately to find,

I travel where my desires are greatest,

No, not where my Father say is best,

Hide me from myself,

Make me into someone else,

Fear and shame,

Give me a new name,

I detest it,

I dislike it,

Who I am and who I have become,

I can no longer hide,

I must ride my tide,

My thoughts

My mind

My secrets

My stuff

Though not perfect

A seed of righteousness is in me

I am God’s promise for someone’s dream

I must fulfill it

I must live it

I am bringing this game to an end

I want to be free, Jesus is my friend

I am in it, to win it

I am in it, to win it

(God loves us just as we are, come as you are, bring all your broken pieces, bring it all to Jesus, He is calling, He is waiting)

Independence Quotes

1. The spirit of independence was breathing heavily down our necks; we could not contain its fury. We gave in and now we celebrate 49 years of it all.

2. Such great wealth in being independent, if we could sell then it may be priceless.

3. The sweet tune of the Jamaican song, ‘wi love yu, wi luv yu a jah mek yah’

4. We have endured so much suffering and pain. Our fore fathers made such great sacrifices, the price of freedom has already been paid, it is now time to live, preserve it and pass it on.

5. Independence is great for those who know what its worth

6. Its such a funny thing that we believe we are much wiser today yet those who fought for our freedom did so with so little and we have so much and having such a hard time keeping it.

7. The stories of Jamaica’s independence must be told, written in books and stored in libraries and universities so we will rise above our challenges of yesterday and become stronger, better and wiser tomorrow.

Unusual Fencing

I need an edge around me

This time not from mine enemy

I need protection and a line of boundary

Against those who love me

I have come to know

Not only does the evil harm me so

But all too often, those who say they love me

With words and deeds

They sometimes deposit bitter seeds

I need an edge around me

This time not from mine enemy

I need protection and a line of boundary

Against those who love me

A dis-functional culture

Breeding added ill-nature

Robs you of your present

And destroys your future

A fence to help me

Nurture that which is within me

From hostility and strife, set free

‘Tis my earnest plea

Oh Lord, build an edge around me

A Father's Heart

A father gives lovely gifts to help his children grow

A father provides food and books and tells them what they ought to know

A father’s work is dear to him so it’s never done

At times he forgets he needs a break, relaxation, and time for fun

Like a child and his toy

A father pursue his joy

Gifts for dad are hard to find

Because daddy you are special, one of a kind

We’ve tried getting you gifts of varying amounts

But now we know, it really is the thought, the heart that counts

Is your PHONE on?

Four times I tried calling you and four times I got your voicemail…

Seven times I sent you messages and you didn’t return my call…

Sometimes I get a busy signal…

At other times I get your voicemail and your inbox is full…

I began wondering if I would soon get the ‘out of service’ response…

Finally I eventually got to you and told you what I wanted…

Shared with you my expectations of you…

Wrote to you and explained my purpose, my plan…

You agreed and promised to do it…

I called…you answered…I told you what to do…you promised you would…

I awaited your fulfillment of your promise; you gave up, saying you can’t do it…

So I am sending you this blog to tell you I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOU

For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

In sync – Faith and Hope

We‘ll dance even when the music stops

We’ll sing even when the song has come to an end

We’ll paint even when there is no more ink

We are committed to going all the way

We are determined to persevere until something beyond the ordinary happens

We’ll continue even when all logical reason to persist has been lost

I love your bits and pieces

It is not easy to love all the small details about some of the people around us.

Whenever we spend time with some folkes we gradually but eventually realise how much we can’t stand little things about them.

It is for this reason that the second commandment in the Old Testament says we should love our neighbour as ourselves. The truth is many people find it difficult to even love themselves, so those of us who are having hang ups over these persons need to understand this message. As long as the person is not able to love him or herself they are going to have difficulty loving others.

Furthermore, have you ever noticed just how easy it is to love the people you love and similarly how easy it is to hate the people you hate?

Well, that is why it is repeated by Jesus in the New Testament when He said, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’.

Who is our neighbour? Our neighbour is more than the person who lives next door. Our neighbour speaks of everyone, including our enemies.

"You have heard that it was said, `Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:43-48, NIV)

The reason God sends the rain on the good and the bad, the just and the unjust is that He is a perfect and Holy God. He also desires for us to be perfect and holy.

We are therefore being called to love the bits and pieces about each other, as difficult as that may be.

The next time you have an encounter where you would react unpleasant to your neighbour, love them. Love their bits and pieces, though tough it may be. You can do it with God’s help. Though I don’t fully agree with some of the things people do around me, I must still love their bits and pieces.

We choose hurt…

Often times when we are close to someone we say they hurt us by means of something they said or did. We take on the hurt because we experienced failed expectations or painstaking disappointments.

This will happen because we are close to the individual. However this is not a case of sparks are flying so you will get burn, rather it is a flowing river and you choose to dive in, you choose to get wet.

If we were to have seen the person’s behaviour from a distant it might not have mattered to us. We would perhaps just over look the fault or the problem and move on or move up.

But too often when we are close to someone and that individual do or say what they will, we choose to wear hurt. In choosing to wear the hurt we take the bad end of the stick, we say well you don’t know what you did to me when you…Whenever this happens the emotions begin to ride the tides of our hearts. The spirit then becomes discouraged and downcast.

I am one of those persons who believe that even in our best and greatest efforts we still offend, if not many, at least some. I have seen governments who did what was best for their people yet were hated for it. Jesus came and did what was Godly and righteous and was hated then crucified for it. I am writing this to help some to overcome hurt, still there may be those who dislike me for it.

I believe when God sends the rain, one man is happy, another is angry. I believe when God sends us the sun, one man is grateful, another man is complaining. We choose our response and we also choose to wear hurt. Some persons may look at this with great cynicism. Perhaps you will say people are hurting you and you have been hurt in the past.

I therefore ask you this question, when you get a release from the hurt you are feeling and carrying isn’t there usually a process of letting go? Even in therapy we are guided to connect with the source of the hurt and to replace the ill feelings with better, a shifting of the emotional response.

We choose to take on hurt, even when no offense is given some will always take it.

Even when an apology is given some will always choose to hold on to the hurt. This message could never be clearer to me, we choose to hold on to it and we choose to let it go. We choose to put on the garment of praise or the garment of hurt and bitterness.

The flip side is that hurting people hurt people. Not many are discerning enough to notice that the child who keeps snapping at his school mates may very well be in need of help. We often take on the hurt from others, while becoming blind to the bigger issue that the person may just need help.

How do we fix hurts? We let them go. We let them go and replace them with better. We let them go and replace them with suitable substitutes of healing, deliverance and freedom. This we do when we embrace the truth of God’s word. The darkness and evil will flee away. No longer will I choose hurt, I choose life, and I choose abundant life.

(If you need further help with overcoming hurt, feel free to make contact with me)

I am here...You are there...

I am here…

You are there…

But we connect by our phones

Or by our hearts

I am here…

You are there…

But we connect through prayer…

Or by our spirits

I am here…

You are there…

Through the simple words we share

We often know God is near

Speaking To Yourself

I am more than who my mind says I am…

I am more than what my emotions feel…

A fool’s water I will not drink

To a useless vessel I refuse to shrink.

My heart is not ashamed of its Maker

I will be among the world’s shakers

I speak to myself

My secret song, exalt thou the name of the Most High

Soul of mine, seek thou God daily

Heart and strength, worship thou the living God

Evil flee from me, to the west and to the north

Oh God, discharge your angels over me

Walk through the dry places and rain your joy and presence

Slay an evil prey, cause my lips to say-

“God is watching my back”

Restore the joy of loving, serving and living

Cause my eyes to see the mountains, not just the stone in front of me.

Let a bird sing a new song of melodious praise to me,

Let an ant show the works of his persistent hands,

Let a crashing wave meet the earth with thunderous shouts!

For they all live, but they live for you Lord.

My wicked heart, my selfish mind, the sorrowful soul

Knows it was made in Your image
…pause to acknowledge that You are God.

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; - Eph 5:19

What’ yu doing?

“Daddy what’ yu doing?” has become one of Joshua’s favourite questions these days…which usually follows an appropriate answer but before you know it there comes the same question again.

Being a 32 months old father, I have become more conscious of what I am doing at all times, remembering at all times that he is watching and writing his own version of whatever he is observing.

His eyes are keen, his ears are sharp and his mind is amazingly ‘glue-telligent’ that readily sticks to whatever stimulates it.

“What’ yu doing?’ is a very important daily question for me now…I ask myself whether what I am doing is in line with what I ought to be doing…sometimes too much effort and resource is wasted on doing what is urgent and immediate rather than what is important.

What yu doing…

The Teacher’s Hand Writing

It’s all over the board,

Inscribed all over the wall,

All over my mind and all over my heart

My teacher you toil day and night

To ensure the students get it right

Even when parents don’t

You do

Your joy is our success

You desire our best

You use your time, your money and energy

To make us who we must become

Your reward is immeasurable

Teacher your hand writing is on the wall

Though not seen, some read it and live better lives

You go over and beyond what is asked

Your joy is our success

You desire our best

Teacher your hand writing is on the wall

God knows just how special you are

(Happy Teachers' Day 2011)

Empty…

Empty your mind of all the ills so I can fill it with my peace and my will...

Empty your heart of all the aches, pain and anxiety, hush and be still…

Empty your eyes of the tears so I can look into your soul...

Empty your arms of the baggage so I can caress you and have you to hold...

Empty your face of the frowns and sadness so I can replace with a kiss of gladness...

Empty your destiny of all the distractions, too many unprofitable talk and thoughts…

Empty your life of the distress, the disgust, the discouragement and move by faith and love

Empty you on me then let me take your cup and fill it up…

I made you…I know just what you need right now…

It’s your life, don’t second guess, I can do it better than you can and for much less

Marriage of the Moon

The moon got engaged to the rain

Oh no, I am by no means insane

In the brightness of the night

Pure and lovely light

Cool, serene, nature display

Almost took my breath away

On this night all nature will sing

As the precious moon now wears her ring

Fix it Daddy!

Ever so often when a toy gets broken I would hear the voice of my two year old son shouting out,
“Fix it daddy! Daddy fix it”
Somehow I think he believes that daddy is able to fix everything.
I have had to tell him that daddy isn’t superman and even superman needs a little help every now and again.
He is however convinced that daddy is able to fix if not all, most things.
Seeing me conduct repairs on a few of his broken toys has led him to the conclusion that daddy can fix it.

We have troubles and problems that sometimes seem to overwhelm us.
They grow much bigger than we can even think or imagine.
Sometimes the issues we face at school, at home, church or work seem to flood us out and cause us to want to give up.
Then there comes a gentle voice asking us, “Why don’t you ask daddy to fix it?”

The bible says, “Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.”

Let daddy fix it.

My son soon learn that I wasn’t about to fix all his problems especially the ones he could have prevented.
So right now he has a few broken toys at home that I have no intention of repairing.
He must realise that while he has his father’s covering he must not deliberately destroy what has been given to him.

We are no different when dealing with our heavenly father; we sometimes intentionally create problems, and whenever they become too much for us we throw our hands in the air in utter frustration.
God wants to give you life, but if you intentionally take your own life, you have made matters worse.

Surely God can fix all of our problems, but there are no doubt some that we can fix or prevent on our own. Walk in wisdom and raise the standard of your life, be determined that you were made for better. Make a promise to live beyond your current struggles, pray and ask God to help you to walk in dominion.

Hello Ant

I opened the phone

An ant crawled inside, needed a loan

I waited for him to leave

I thought he needed the time

Perhaps he went to make a call

Wasn't sure what he did still

So I decided to check my bill

Strange calls

Strange numbers

I called the telephone company

Submitted my complaint

Told them I never made those calls

Must have been a big black ant

I got no reprieve

They told me I was insane

So when they asked

I couldn't tell them my name

The lady was kind

But said I must be losing my mind

Telling me to tame the monsters in my mind

I felt wounded

I shut down the phone

If I am wrong,

Who win this case

Why then an infestation took place

How else was the message sent

The day the ant in my phone went

You say you don’t know, explain, you can’t

Oh Dear, I think I hear someone calling

“Hello Ant?”

You are not using words

You have said so much to me

You have convinced me so forcefully

I see your desires

Heard your intentions

Know you want to

Heard you said it

But you are not using words

You told me I shouldn’t

Then asked why I didn’t

I approached

You denied

I confirmed

You said I lied

But you are just not using words

Never painted it

Never sketched it

You said it

You never danced it

Stop denying it

You said it

Never gestured

Voices heard

You said it

But you are not using words

If you never did

Then who did

The words are clear

Written all over my mind

You cannot deny it

No, not this time

The Nature of Man

One is yearning for love…another is taking love for granted

One wants a job to earn his keep…another don’t want to work but likes to eat

One gives lovingly to his family and friends…another wishing the begging would end

One appreciates good and give thanks for the bad…another is never satisfied, always sad

One wants a family to love and cherish…another is tearing theirs apart, soon to perish

One likes attention and tenderness…another is annoyed by the closeness

One wants good strong leadership…another thinks the leader is demanding, too selfish

One finds the standards too high…another says the standards don’t make them grow

One is happy with her size…another daily wants disguise

One is unwise with her tongue…another makes the best use of every utterances

One is born male, happily so…another is woman, surgically now a man wherever he goes

You reading about you, noting there is something you can do

You are not greater than your choices; while you make them, they are also making you

Why Do Fools Fall in love?

Why does love always fool some

While some fools just always fall in love

Does love really fool some

And do fools really fall in love

Do some try to fool love

Then make a fool of themselves

Love was not made for the fool

No, the fool was not made to love

The ‘wise’ can scarcely find love

Caged by fear

The fool finds it

Dives foolishly into it

The ‘wise’ breaks their own hearts

The fools in love make our hearts melt

Why does love always fool some

While some fools just always fall in love

Some fool some and find love

Some never lived long enough

Some find it and sold it over a fuss

Who then is a fool

Who is ‘wise’

Some may be simple, but not fool

Some may be bright but not wise

Lasting impressions – Paintings on the mind

As you pause to reflect on the people and things that have made a lasting impression on your life, you will no doubt realise how much the choices you make on a daily basis are impacted by this lasting impression. Your preferences, tastes, standards, values, morals and life become a mirror of all these various experiences. They help to form your beliefs and become a great part of the passion and fuel that drives you.

These may be words uttered that have changed your life or deeds done that paints a picture on your mind.

These could be:

A family member

A friend

A stranger

A leader

A group

A boss/manager

A Teacher

An act of kindness

A bird, a flower, a moment

An experience, an event

Someone’s care and interest your success

Words

Music

Movies

The moon

A poem

A message

An elder

A baby

A child

A graphic image

Lasting impressions help to mold our trends in life, yes you are a part of someone’s lasting impressions and yes I am a part of someone’s lasting impressions.

I recall some years ago watching a movie that ended at 1am, horrified by how it ended and how one of the characters died, I switched off the TV and went to bed. But for another 2 and a half hours I laid flat on my back still tormented over the graphic ending of the movie.

A lasting impression was made on my mind; I have since learned how to clear my thoughts before retiring to bed.

Unlike this bad experience, there are more pleasurable lasting impressions happening in my life every day. Do you have any?

Raise the standards

In a world where so many are competing to lower the standards and redefine morals

Raise the standards when you go to sing

Raise the standards when you seek a mate

Raise the standards when you are blessed to be a man’s wife

Raise the standards when you become a husband

Raise the standards when you are privileged to be a father

Raise the standards when you get the opportunity to be a mother

Raise the standards in your interactions and socializations
Ask yourself what type of friends am I attracting

Raise the standards in your school

Raise the standards in your community

Raise the standards as a student

Raise the standards as a teacher, leader, coach, mentor or preacher
Ask yourself what type of footprints am I leaving behind

Raise the standards as you grow older

Raise the standards when you put up your status online,
Ask yourself if a prospective employer were to visit your profile would you be a potential…

As you raise the standards around you, your life will be become more fulfilled; everyday will bring you new challenges, new zest and zeal and new fuel to keep your fire burning.

Be determined to raise the standards

You'll Get Pass It...

You’ll get pass it…

Though it seems hard, too hard to bear
Though you feel like your heart is breaking
Like your last breath you are taking

You’ll get pass it…
Though you have cried till your tears become like a flowing river
Though you feel you have failed
Though you erred and think it is the end of the world

You’ll get pass it…
Today, start a new life
Shake off that which is holding you back
Today, recognise where your true support comes from
And embrace it

Today, quit promoting what is only causing you more pain and hurt
You must get pass it, but you must also learn the lessons well
Pass your test
You’ll get pass it

Nothing n the teen…

Me: “What are you doing?”

Teen: “Nothing”

Me: “Why are you looking so dull?”

Teen: “Nothing”

Me: “Is something bothering you?”

Teen: “No”

Me: “Hmmm?”

Teen: “Nothing man”

Is it lack of eloquence?

Is it an unwillingness to say?

Is it a mood thing?

Is it our new culture?

A secret being hidden?

Words like ‘nothing’, ‘whatever’ and expressions like, ‘dah!’

Have finally made their way into our everyday communication and interactions

The communications specialist will have to assess and comment or perhaps just resolve to saying, ‘nothing’

Walk away…

She brings a fight to him

A terrible, popular human plight

He hits back bruising her badly

He doesn’t want to harm her

But she is filled with rage and anger

She is in danger of herself

She pushes him over

He hits his head

She beat him and beat him

Till he decide this was not to be any longer

Blood gushes out of her belly

As he plunge a knife into her stomach

Not once but over and over again

She laid, lifeless, the floor filled with red

In a moment she will be dead

The world will think she is a saint

And he a murderer

Oh the price he must now pay

If he only had but walked away

Walk away when you can see the danger

Walk away when the next person is blinded by anger

Walk away as it doesn’t matter the reason for the strife

It’s never worth the taking of another human life

Walk away…

(Everyday family violence occur, the murder rate is high, alarming and growing.

We must encourage persons to walk away. Don’t argue if it will lead to a fight, just simply walk away. A true winner knows he/she doesn’t have to fight to win. The one who knows better but fail to do it is the real loser)

Love Quest

When man on his quest discovers love at its best

He loses his mind to regain it with the passing of time

I am yet to understand how a man who is free

Craves love and its captivity, how clever

For he who has been chained with chains is still free

But he that is chained with love is bound forever.

She Glows…

She glows for her beloved

She glows as her heart finds love

She glows thinking of him who her heart requires

She glows as he is her true desire

She glows whenever he is near

She glows hands locked, walking out on the pier

She glows as love found her heart

She glows from his kiss

She glows from his touch

She glows from a longing to hear his voice

She glows as she misses him so much

She glows for her lover, oh no! Not you, please don’t touch

Save Decency

There seems to be an all out campaign to rid the world of decent and upright living

There are those who believe it has to be indecency to be entertaining

Those who believe that must be in a manner that is rude, slack or feisty in order to gain an audience

Then there are those who ride on the waves of indecency and are stimulated by nothing less

In an attempt to please ourselves, we oftentimes offend each other and offend our Creator.

Save decency…

It doesn’t have to be excessive to be expressive

It does not have to be offensive to be intensive

Corruption isn’t the only solution

I long to see the rude being booed

Save truth, honesty and courtesy

Save our youth from the uncouth

Save decency…

In My Mind

I saw you today, oh how gorgeous you looked.

It seems like your face radiate the glory of the sun and the calm cool beam of the star

I heard your voice today, sweet melodious classic to my ear

As beautiful as nature
As peaceful as the spring

Now you make me want to dance and sing

This happened today, all in my mind
I wish it would never go away

Doesn’t it bother you?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That our children are not allowed to grow in a normal way because of pedifiers?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That you must not ever forget to lock your house door behind you once you get in at night?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That two school boys from the very same school would argue and fight to the point that one stabbed the other and now one is being buried and the other being sentenced?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That some sellers will sell their goods at exorbitant prices which end up going to waste any ways?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That I have to write about it?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That you could be traveling in a taxi and be robbed and shot?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That there is at times a strong syndication between the prison and the palace?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That proper parenting is woefully lacking?

Doesn’t it bother you…
That too many leaders occupying their positions are not being held responsible and accountable?

Doesn’t it bother you that you worry too much?

…Casting all your cares upon Him for He cares for you – Peter 5:7

Potential Sinners

One potential sinner judges another
Having known what the other did
Now feels he is better

One potential sinner sin for money
Another sin for power
Both needs a miracle
Both needs a Saviour

One potential sinner now realise
He needs a brother or sister
We are sinners by nature
Accept God's gift, live forever

Acting and Reacting

Do you often react in a surprising way for even the slightest thing?

Are you more prone to act or to react?

Remember your action is worth far more than your reactions.

I sometimes think of how difficult it is for people to act and make the first move while it becomes so easy for them to react.

They hesitantly make the first move to do something good or even to say how much they appreciate the benefits, people and blessings around them. Yet they, without reservations, become easy triggers to reacting to how they feel.

Learning to separate our feelings from our reactions requires great control and maturity. You should not expend your energies reacting to words, behaviours and other negatives. If you do then you only act as robots and oftentimes will upset and frustrate yourself even more.

If you are feeling bad about something someone has done to you, it is never justification to respond in a bad way.

Refuse to react to the evil and bad. Instead dominate the life stage with your acts of love, kindness and goodness. It is too easy to render evil for evil. Tap into the supernatural and allow God to empower you to shine against the odds.

Good communication is hard work but the rewards are worthwhile. Invest in communicating well with others.

Believe you were made for better. Some people are determined to make the worse of you. Though difficult it may seem, be resolute in believing you were made for better.

Don't stoop to reacting accordingly instead act righteously.

Keep Me From Evil

Dear Lord,

As Jabez prayed that you would keep him from evil.
I also pray that you will keep evil away from me
You have instructed us in the model prayer to ask not to be led into temptation
And also to ask for deliverance from it

Too often your people see a temptation bus passing by and hitch hike; knowing very well its danger and destination.

Our hearts are wicked without your love and forgiveness
Lord, keep me from evil and keep evil from me

As I grow in your word, let your supernatural power manifest itself in my life.
Make it hard for evil to draw nigh, as your covering is all over me

Today I pray that you will deliver me from evil, seen and unseen, known and unknown.
Deliver me from the wicked foes and masquerading friends.
Keep me in all my ways. Amen.

Daddy! Pay Attention to me Please…

Daddy you would never imagine how much I suffer when you’re not here…
My heart trembles when the skies are dark and I am so overwhelmed by fear…

Daddy when you show me how to live…
It is the best gift you could ever give…

Daddy, school is hard work and your words of encouragements are like my spring board into a life of success…

Daddy when you help me to understand relationships and love…
My heart is more secured and I am better able to function…

Daddy you make such a big difference in my life…
We all have to fight to keep the good and positive in our lives…

So I am going to help you to pay attention to me…
Because when you do and I do the same, what a wonderful world this will be…

How Do You Pray?

If you pray just for stuff
Your praying is not enough

If you pray only to complain
Your praying is not from a heart of thanksgiving

Pray when times are good
And whilst they get tough

Pray earnestly for the ambitious,
The beggar, the thief, the ole cruff

Pray to say thanks
Pray to deposit in your prayer bank

Pray when it’s hard to do
Pray, it will bring you through

Pray when you are confuse
Pray when you have nothing to lose

Pray when you are at a lost for words
Groanings will be heard

Pray without the wickedness in your heart
That is always the best place to start

Pray without ceasing, pray without end
Bless your enemies, need no reminder to pray for your friend

Watch and pray
Lest you fall into temptation and go astray

Go! Joshua Go!

Be your own cheerleader

One evening our thirty month old son was riding his red tricycle in our living room.
Up and down the room he went, knocking over just about any small item in his way.
He caught my attention as he was pedaling with such great force and determination and you would almost believe he was a contender in a race.

Soon his enthusiasm soared and he began shouting with excitement, “Go Joshua Go!”
Recognizing that he had won the attention of everyone in the house he shouted even more, “Go Joshua Go!”

Soon his excitement was felt and shared by all. This small act of enthusiasm and passion in motion was able to light up the entire room.

The bible tells us in 1 Samuel 30:6 “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.”

Shortly after King David encouraged himself, he got up and went to battle and had one of the greatest victories for the army of Israel.

Be your own cheerleader

There will be times when you must tap into the strength that God has already given you; the strength that lies within and is quickened whenever it is tested.

Be your own cheerleader as you face life’s challenges.
This is by no means underestimating the power of working together or fellowshipping among the brethren. It speaks to a time when you must become so excited and determined to move forward you will be able to affect and lift the spirits of those who too may be burdened down or greatly distressed.

Be your own cheerleader as you go about your way, you are bound to find new strength and drive to go forward.

Happiness v Joy

Happiness is me going after my dreams, my fantasies and wishes and usually leaves me with guilt or regrets.

Joy is me going after God’s dreams, his plan and purpose for my life and usually leaves me with a song in my heart even if I am in prison

I'm going to make it

I'm going to make it
It’s going to work out
Though the path I’m on seems so difficult lonely and long
I'm going to make it.

The thing I'm so worried about, in the end may never even count, its going to work out.

I am feeling down but God will lift me up,
My soul gets confused at times but its going to work out

Difficult - perhaps
But not impossible

Uncertain – at times
But faith needs just a mustard seed to work

Even when I feel like a stranger
I must find that place where I belong

It’s going to work out, I know it will

I like to say ‘Hi!’

I like to say ‘Hi’...
Don’t ask me why...

I was taught to be polite...
Read in the bible that I am light...

You may never know...
Just how far a simple ‘Hi’ will go...

What remarkable power in a ‘Hi’...
Cause someone to smile, another to sigh...

Just like the cockatoo...
I like to say ‘Hi’ to you...

So before I bid you bye...
Here is a BIG Hi!!!!!...

(Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you) – Ephesians 4:32 NAS

Heal my heart

Every encounter I have had in the past left me with emotional scars, emotional glories or indifference. But most often I am left with a story.

These encounters then cause me to build a wall, high and wide or sometimes they just break down my wall.

It is certain that I will always take decisions based on my experiences. Oftentimes these decisions are not healthy for my future; Decisions that cause me to lose self confidence and torment my heart with fear, shyness, guilt and more.

You too have emotional encounters every single day of your life; Encounters that leave you with baggage or strip you of your joy. You then take decisions going forward which may be wrong as these only block you from being the best you that you can be.

These are decisions which sometimes cause you to lower your expectations and standards. Your heart believes the lie that you must settle for that which the word of God strictly forbids.

You start living the lie, the Deceiver then make it seems like this was just what you needed all this time, but you know within your heart your solution presents more questions than answers and brings you more trouble than ease. His prescription leaves you with too many side effects and ungodly actions and reactions.

Now you are at the place that I have been before. The place where you now realise you must stop and take stock of your life. You look at where you are now and where you want to be. You are determined to stop wasting time, stop distracting yourself and quit the idle jesting.

Then you do what I call an emotional inventory, so you look at all the bad experiences that you have had and the way they make you feel and live today. You also look at the decisions you have made from those encounters you’ve had and compare it to what the word of God says about you. Determined to move forward your soul is now ready to cry out, “Oh Lord, heal my heart”.

It is too dangerous to attempt to move forward without being healed; then again sometimes what you really need to be healed is a simple decision to move forward.

Be an Instrument God can use

What would you do if you had a piano for seventy years that was never played?

How would you feel if you were made gold but was treated like feather and you lived like a rat?

What if at the end of it all you were told that you were a predestined winner, who has never won?

Imagined God having loads of unclaimed blessings in heaven with your name on it, for which you never asked, you never tried, always thinking you are too afraid, too shy.

Do you realise what gets used stays longer and its years are extended?

Consider a shoe, a car or an article of clothing, how they last when used.

Be an instrument God can use, this is one time you really don’t mind being used, after all He created you, and He knows best, that which suits you.

I did this all for God’s Glory in 2010:

I created:

950 Thoughts

230 Poems

115 Songs and Other Music Pieces

145 Blogs

79 Other Creative Writings

Certainly there is something God can use you to do, something ordinary, something supernatural, something new, it’s entirely up to you.

Ask Him today, to use you in a powerful way and then get ready for it.

Music Mouse Trap

She was only lying to herself. She now pays the bitter price. She had no idea she would have been captured like a mouse with a trap that was so nicely decorated with cheese.
Those of us who continue to believe that music is music and it is nothing more than a form of art and entertainment, better know that something dangerous is looming on the horizon.

If you are one of those Christians who believe it is perfectly ok to listen to just about any type of music whether on your own ipod, computer, phone or those of your unsaved friends, then you better know that you are walking in the devil’s forte.

Over the last 36 months I have made several presentations on the impact of music on human behaviour, highlighting how the music affects the way we think, act and who we ultimately become. I have used several scripture references to show that once our desires are not in line with what God desires for us we are most likely treading down the wrong road. I have also pointed out the importance of making good daily choices.

The world is already trapped, no question about that, as the head of the world’s music is one who was once the best in heaven. He now stands as a great musician, composer, arranger etc. He waits like a bear in the woods wanting to get the heads of especially those who are in music in the Kingdom of God, so watch out. His name is Lucifer, a deceiver. He has so much experience deceiving people I sometimes wonder why we think we can single handedly out wit him.

Sad to say, too many have already been caught by his ‘mouse trap’. I like to call it ‘MUSE – SICK’, amuse them while making them spiritually, emotionally and physically sick. You are likely to pay attention to whatever entertains you and whatever entertains you and get your attention find it easier to make its way into your heart and into your soul; Without you even knowing it or being aware of it sometimes you find yourself in a mouse trap and in need of rescue. I pray your eyes will be open and you will discern the enemy’s cunning devices. Otherwise, self deception will lead you into self destruction.

Just for Married Folks and Prospectives

Some of us married folks are really going to burn in hell if we do not change our ways. We murmur and complain and become ever so bitter towards each other as if God doesn’t and has never done anything right in our lives.

We are sulky and angry at almost everything, we become like the Children of Israel who God delivered from a bad place with a great promise of better but because of their disobedient and evil heart they never made it save two persons. In retrospect some of us are coming from a bad place and our marriage and family relationship may not be the ideal and quite a distant from the paradise some of us seek but it is still worth giving thanks for.

I have found that some singles do find themselves in a similar position as well and are also in need of healing lest they perish. If our souls are with our real lover, Jesus Christ the groom, then we will find so much more to be thankful for and so fewer opportunities to bicker.

The bride must become spotless to meet her groom and while you are busy counting others’ spots, be careful those spots aren’t transferred to you. Change your ways, time is running out.

A brand new day awaits you…

A brand new day awaits you…

They call it tomorrow…

A brand new day awaits you…

Free of worry, trials and sorrow…

A brand new day awaits you…

You can sing sweet melody like the sparrow…

A brand new day awaits you…

After all this, a new season must begin…

A brand new day awaits you…

This fight, this struggle, you will win

Emotional tangle

Emotional tangle

It can be too much to handle

Emotional confusion

Unclear motivation

Confronting, understanding

My emotional complication

Rescue me from this situation

Mental frustration

I react off the cuff

As though the earlier problems were not enough

In an unstructured discourse

I felt like I was force, now deep remorse

So I speak my mind

Though mean and unkind

Now I am twice disturbed

Thrice perturbed

“Good Heavens!” My anger tree must curb

It’s happening!

“No, its not”

It’s happening!

“No, its not”

All in one body

All in one head

Come alive

Then drop dead

What do I want?

“I want that which I don’t want”

So I let go of that which I want to hold

Cuddling with warm embrace

While saying, “Stay outta my face!”

What do I want?

Oh God I need your help

My emotional drama

Each separated by a comma

In a minute I love what I hate

Then excited over what soon bore me, sealing my fate

Émouvoir

French emotion

Move, strong devotion

Drive, elation

All in one body

All in one head

Come alive

Then drop dead

Later I’ll be ecstatic

Electric, a fanatic

Bombarded by fear

Having no care

Doubt and uncertain

Then suddenly all is clear

Oh, what is this my Dear?

All in one body

All in one head

Come alive

Then drop dead

Emotional tangle

It can be too much to handle

No. 1 reason I do what I do

Led by the emotions rather than the heart

Oh it’s tearing me a part

Emotion needs no reason

At times may use a season

Then another moment, high treason

All in one body

All in one head

Come alive

Then drop dead

Emotional tangle

It can be too much to handle

(Those who struggle with the emotional highs and lows, learn the importance of replacing that part of you with faith, faith in a God who is far more powerful than your emotional experiences)

I Survived Home

A new day breaks

Greeted by aged old heart aches

A place call home for loving hearts

A master piece work of art

The irony of this symphony

My place of safety

Love sanctuary

Has become my Calvary

To help me the evil dispel

Is now my living hell

Be Obedient

Why do you ask questions when you don’t want answers?

Why do you want me to speak when you are not listening?

And why do you ask me to lead when you want to follow the path of your own?

Why do you hear my words, and then disobey?

You asked me to order your steps but yet you keep running away from me

You believe I always watch over you, surely I always do, even though I don’t like all the things you do.

You said I should hold your hands and lead you into the unknown

But you only want to go the way you know

You just don’t understand, for you, I have the perfect plan

There are doors that have failed to open because you are not walking with me…And those doors already open will only take you down a path further and further away from me

You said I should control your lips but you keep on speaking and singing lewd language

You Gossip, you carry tale and oh God knows what else…that’s right I do know what else…

You said I should keep your mind pure yet you keep harbouring unwholesome thoughts and imaginations

My words are true…

My mercies each day are new…

If you really want to worship me…be obedient

The Burden of a Girl's Heart - Prayer

Oh God,

You are God of all creation, human and wisdom.
You reign supreme.
Oh God, you know the cries of my heart

Some things I just don’t understand.
Why a mother hates her child,
Or a child hates his/her mother
I don’t quite know why mom and dad just doesn’t seem to get along

Nor do I understand why it seems as though dad hates his child
And why the child hates dad
How can a place of love and protection
Be packed with so much hatred, bitterness and danger?

God, Almighty!
Where have we gone wrong?
The devil is certainly having a field day in our family
We have a spare room around the back, I am sure that is where he sleeps at nights.

Sisters and brothers hating each other so much they try to kill each other
And sometimes they do succeed.
God, in all this madness
Fill my heart with gladness

Hear the cries of your children,
The cries of children being hurt and cursed,
The sadness and pain of children being battered and abused
A land in ruins, a family in turmoil

“The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands” (Proverbs 14:1)
“A wise man builds his house upon a rock…” Matt. 7:24

Why a teen, a child like me should carry such a burden?
So God, I write you this prayer from eyes swollen with tears
I write you with a heart so filled with anguish and hate, for my parents taught me well
Sometimes God, Dad, I wonder what was it like when my parents were children
Did their parents hate them too?

God for four years now I tried killing myself, I have now concluded that even death hates me
So now I want to live and find true love in the world,
I believe I was made for better.

Help me to show that with you in my life, a mess can become a message
Help me God to find better, help me to endure, help me to find joy, in Jesus name.
Amen

(A child, a teenager, a man, a woman, needs this prayer today - A world filled with dysfunctional families - Intercede toay)

His soul search for home…

A man wanting to give love and care…

Not quite the story we often hear…

His heart desires to be home…

Instead it seldom wanders but never roams…

A soul caught within a love-net…

Leaves the faint discouraged and perplexed…

A man, no boy…

Must he treat love like a toy?...

He won’t even bet on it…

A chance too great to take…

A man wanting a girl…

Someone he can call his precious pearl…

A man wanting a wife…

With whom he can joyfully share his life…

A man wanting a son…

A lad to perpetuate his legacy…

A bitter taste in the heart…

Hunts for the sugar sweet love of his heart…

As the lungs need air…

He wants his love to be near, be there…

A man longing for a touch…

English, Spanish, French or Dutch…

A man wanting to give love and care…

Not quite the story we often hear…

If while giving…

He too starts receiving…

A soul searching for home…

Ends the seeking, the hunting when it finds Home!

Caged No More…

Caged no more

Free to fly

Free to soar

~~

A bit taken aback

You standing still

Carrying the past in your pack

~~

Confinement your testament

You ask oh why

A mind in predicament

~~

Hands and feet no longer bound

Yet you standing still

Thralldom compound

~~

Stop this human greed

Hoarding the basics

While another dies from need

~~

Caged no more

Free to fly

Free to soar

~~

A bit taken aback

You standing still

Carrying the past in your pack

~~

The Slave encaged by the Master

But still keep his will

The Superior enslaved by greed, a sheer disaster

~~

Caged no more

Both must be free

Free forever, free forevermore

Knock…knock…Your success is at the door

Knock…knock…who’s there? ... Your success...

If you were told that your success is just outside your door, what would you do?...

Knock…knock…and the knocking continues…you need to make the next move...

The next move to get just what you have always wanted...

You have been praying for your breakthrough for a long time now...

Finally, your answer is just outside the door...

Perhaps too you are thinking, “Yeah right!”...

“If only life was that simple…”

But let us suppose again that life was always simple...
And our faith is what determines how simple or complex life becomes

“Really now?...”
Sure…it is as simple as opening the door and allowing success to come inside...

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” – St. Matthew 7:7 – “Join the 7:7 Prayer”...

There are some considerations too…Time is essential as success will only wait on your response for a specific time…the offer wont last forever…It will soon move to the next available door, obedient heart or determined bidder....

If you were told that there is just one small problem that is standing between you and success…would you be willing to make that change?...

Would you know what is standing in your way?...

Your ‘door’ may be a bad habit...

Or it may be your intemperance, impatience, your slothfulness or foolish pride...

It may be that you just didn’t ask....

Whatever it is, how prepared are you to open that final door and allow success to walk right in?

Join the 7:7 prayers…let’s make success walk right through your door.

The Best Two-Word Conversation I Know...

Thank You…

Sharing these two words with you, there isn’t much else to say or do…

Thank You…
For all you have given, done and continue to do...

Thank you…
For staying the course...

Thank you…
You stuck to the task...

Thank you…
Now we have fond memories, forever they’ll last...

Thank you…
The best two-word conversation I know...

Thank you…
Even the smallest act of kindness or caring gesture will ignite a heart and cause it forever to glow

Thank you…

He's living a lie

He calls himself a saint...
Poisoned by his own lust he grows faint...

He makes the altar a place of shame...
Partaking in the name without playing the game...

His gift and status, a young girl's deception...
Uncovered by her conception...

This 'priest' with a soul of charm...
Yet another prey he hunts then harm...

When the prophet rebukes...
Forsake the stubbornness of age and the folly of youth...

The fragrance of deception...
Can you tell by mere smell...

Playing evil melody on his drums, his flute...
cloak-and-dagger, guileful pursuit...

He wears a lie in his profession...
That keeps him at peace without confession...

Not one with The Creator...
Rather the Deceiver...

CONGRATULATIONS!

I know there were times when you certainly thought you couldn’t, you wouldn’t and perhaps you shouldn’t.

Throughout the worrying moments; the pain, the tears, the tiring days and sleepless nights there were so many battles that you had to fight.

~ *~*~*~

With all the skeptic voices shouting you can’t and you won’t, well…you have done it!

You managed to swim against the tide, now your success cannot be denied.

Whatever you didn’t know then, you know now, you surely can and you surely did it. The results are here…Yeah! You did it!

Congratulations!

She needs her identity

Her father was never the real big man...

She hated men though she needed one...

Always wishing he would one day come home...

But she wondered whether she would hit him with a stone...

Her father was never the real big man...

She hated men though she needed one...

Her peers spoke highly of their dad...

She could only imagined the glories she never had...

Daddy if you only knew...

Mom had a baby girl and called her Sue...

Her father was never the real big man...

She hated men though she needed one...

With tears streaming down her face...

Father’s day, she yearned for your embrace...

Her father was never the real big man...

But she didn’t want just any man, she wanted that special one...
