My dad knelt by my bedside and prayed
I was not yet two
But I know it’s true
My dad asked our Heaven Father to lead and guard me
I didn’t hear his desperate plea or request
But I know God answered by how I’ve been blessed
My dad took me in his arms and anointed me
I was but a child, a baby
He pressed into the future, just for me
Today I live, I live for my dad prayed for me
I live the prayers he has prayed over and over again
I was asleep, I heard his voice
I opened my eyes, he looked at me and smiled
Who needs a bed to be available…
When a father’s praying arms are capable
I jumped in his arms
And he prayed some more
Driving away the thunders and the storm
At times he would cry
Putting aside all his pride
As my dad prayed at my bedside
