Journey

Every journey starts at the beginning

Every journey stops at the end

In between each beginning

And each end

You no doubt will find new allies

Make new foes

And make yourself some new friends

~ *~ * ~*~

Not every journey requires walking

Not every journey requires driving

But each journey requires leaving, moving or changing

Otherwise, how will we get there if we don’t leave?

~ *~ * ~*~

If there is no departing,

Then there can be no arriving

If there is no persevering

There is hardly gonna be any achieving

~ *~ * ~*~

A journey starts not with mounting a horse

Or sailing a ship o’er and down a new path

A journey begins with a made up mind

A determination one must within their heart and soul find

~ *~ * ~*~

A noble traveler

Stays the course amidst the rough wind

Sail on, find the strength within

Let God be your guide

Beneath His wings let your soul hide

When the journeying is done,

Its not where you have been

But how did you run

~ *~ * ~*~

To Love and Not Live

We hurt the ones we love by the things we say, or the things we didn’t say…
They feel excruciating pain from the things we do, or we just didn’t do…
A scar is made from expectations they never expressed and which were never met…

Oh Love ! Answer me these three questions: Is love not painful?
Is not love the greatest source of joy?
Is not love the greatest source of sorrow?
How we crave much from those who love us and those we love too…
How we think so much of the little things they say or do and what these mean too…

Though to live and not love is to grow with a hole in your heart…
Though to love and not live is to grow dreams apart…
I would rather to love and be burnt and live and be hurt than never to love and never to live…

She is Crying

She is crying, she is sobbing
Hurt by love
She pity herself
Harmed by care
Disarmed by control
She grows bitter
Angry and cold
For love is brother to pain
For love is fire to one
Love drives another insane
She wants her love
But he is avoiding
Perhaps hiding
Behind her unforgiving heart
She tells her secret to man pushing a hand cart
A bird took it and went off
Now she feels hated
Not real
Adopted pain
 In a dream
All in her dream
Now she awakes
A knife in her hand
Blood on the fan
A mourning dove
Why do we hurt the ones we love

Inspiration from my cousin

How often do you get into trouble because of words you have used, whether directly or indirectly?

Today one of my cousins read my online profile for my first book and was so moved by the work that she decided to encourage me with Titus 2: 8.
I want to share both verse 7 and 8 with you which reads:
"Always set an example for others by doing good works.
Teach with integrity and dignity.
Use wholesome speech that cannot be condemned. Then any opponent will be ashamed because he cannot say anything bad about us." - NIV

Some times persons scuff at good works and say we are not saved by our good works, but good works could make the difference between we ending up on the right side or not. Good works could make the difference in us being effective witnesses or not. What do I mean by that?

Have you noticed carefully what is happening around us? People have reached a stage where they are able to deceive themselves so much that acts which were once considered out rightly forbidden are now being entertained and permitted in some quarters. I find that in my own life, if I bring my body to obey the word of God and I continue to obey and do the right, then it suddenly becomes much easier than harder.  The reverse is also true.

If we indulge in perverted speaking, it becomes easier and easier to do it. Today almost every other word in the English language is being given some 'sexual' reference or connotation. If we refuse to go down that road we can save ourselves from the pain of lust, perverted talking and fowl conversations.

Ultimately, the child of God desires to be obedient to God and His word, therefore we must keep our mouth.  Our thoughts, words, actions, play time and serious times must remain pure and without condemnation. Doing the wrong things under the disguise of 'fun' is a deceptive technique applied by the great Deceiver over and over again. Don’t be fooled, and don’t fall for his lies.

Let us be examples in our speech and the deeds we perform on a daily basis. Let us ask God to forgive us and allow us to live with integrity in our work place, schools and colleges, our communities and our homes.

My cousin did not write out the scripture at all she simply placed the scripture reference in the subject of her email. Because of the desire in me for the word of God It caught my attention and energy and the ultimate result is this blog.  It really was as simple as that. It is the same method used in the devils deceptions, he sets the bait and we bite it and get caught.  Don’t bite the bait, be conscious of his devises.

I Am a Seed

Planted
Nurtured
Lived

Germinated
Matured
Fruitful and now it gives

A word spoken
A kind deed given
These are precious seeds

I am a seed
So too are you
Whose seed do you carry?

I am a seed of another seed
You carry a sown seed
It determines how you live and who you marry

Plant a seed for change,
It may not grow in your life time
But plant it anyway

Many have planted
We are their produce
They live on, once we speak

I pause to honour
The difference they have made
A vital difference in me and perhaps you

A chosen seed
A seed of love
A seed of mercy

A seed of purple or blue
A seed of thoughtfulness too

YOU ARE My Greatest Inspiration...

You are my greatest inspiration…

Yes there were mountains I thought were impossible to climb…

Had many rivers that I was too afraid to cross…

Years of fears and insecurities bottled up inside me…

Believed for many years the lie I was told, ‘I was never good enough’…

But then you came…

Yes you came…

You held my hands, embraced me at times…

Gosh the simple things you did that left such a great mark on me…

In spite of and despite all, you loved me…

Now I know love can change anyone, it changed me…

Yes you came…

Showed me my legacy that had been waiting for me…

I now walk the path of receiving many promises God made…

I am better, I am greater, and I am an over comer…

Now I stand firm and bold amidst the situation…

You are to me, my greatest inspiration…

My past - DOOR - My Future

After I walked through the door, it was still immediately behind me.

Its shadow was still on my heels.

If I had made just one step backwards I would once again slip back through the door.

I would have hit reverse into a place from which I so desperately wanted to walk away.

I have been longing for the change. I dreamt many nights about it. Now as I am standing right next to the door, I must decide whether I am at its ‘entrance’ or at its ‘exit’. If I walk through the door; then I must be prepared to hold my head up, look straight ahead and move forward one step at a time.

My past is behind me and my future ahead of me.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

So finally I decided to go through the door. It was now behind me.

As I walked further and further away...

Soon the door was a little distant away and to go back would take some falling back, some letting go and some backward thinking. But as I journeyed further and further away, I resisted the thought of going back more and more. Soon the door had become but a small part of my distant past. My emotions started playing tricks on me again so I asked myself, “Are you running?” “Yes! I am running”, I answered myself.

I spoke to myself and encouraged myself with certainty that God would see me through it this time.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

My past is my past and I must past it to move forward.

If the past keep haunting you, touching you on your shoulder every now and again, don’t look back, move straight ahead. Speak to yourself in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Make melody in your heart to the Lord.

For inside these doors lies my past, your past, but I have walked out, I have moved on, I am not looking back, that is a fact, and I believe I was made for better, so too were you. Take that bold, brave step only you know God has placed in your heart, it lines up so well with His word and will for you, so why don’t you just do it?

Make that step, make that move...

Teachers' Party!

If you have ever taught me a lesson…today I say ‘thank you’

If you have ever taught someone else something important then this party is certainly for you too

Just about anyone can teach anything

But not everyone can teach everything

Some people will teach some things

And some will teach you a huge hunk of nothing

Therefore the best reward for teaching is learning

I have knowledge, because someone took the time to guide me and show me

Teaching requires one of life’s most precious virtues, that of patience

Teachers most often represent a student’s quintessence

A darling teacher is twice a mother and many times a father

Some people teach as it’s the best way to show they know what they know

Others can do what they know but can’t teach it

So then you see, this group of people called, ‘TEACHERS’ are a special set

Highly prestigious is the role of a teacher

Some carve wood for furnishings and some service the airplanes for flying

But teachers carve the human mind for living and service their spirits for soaring.

This is certainly a member’s only party, a VIP occasion, a momentous celebration.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to say it, let them hear it, ‘Good Teachers Are Our Heroes”

Los Maestros Parte!

Happy Teachers’ Day

Find love...

Find love that heals…

Find love that transfigures and shields…

Find love that doesn’t spoil and hurt you…

Find love that gives your dreams a chance to be birthed…

Find love that is enduring…

Find love that is encouraging…

Find love that doesn’t abuse…

Find love that doesn’t confuse and is rude…

Find love that is simple…

Find love that reveals your dimple…

Find love in the birth of a baby, a saviour…

Find love in his death and resurrection…

Find love in the true meaning of Christmas…

Find love amidst the conflict and the strife and fuss…

Find love for it propels you beyond yourself…

Find love that will give you wings and everyday a song to sing…

Find love, not hastily…

Find love not out of convenience…

Find love; follow the love-map…

Find love among the wise heart…

Reach Out...

Reach out to a wrinkled hand…

Reach out to a discouraged man…

Reach out to a lonely young girl’s heart…

Reach out to make a fresh start…

Reach out; it is divine to do so…

Reach out everyday and wherever you go…

Reach out for a better life…

Reach out with all your might…

Touch those who will touch others…

Reach out and touch the fathers and mothers…

Touch those who need to be healed…

Reach out to a heart of stone and a soul of steel…

Reach out to a teacher…

Create a new life, a new chapter…

Reach out it is time…

Reach out with love and begin to shine…

Reach out and grasp that which you need…

Reach out and reap the harvest, but be sure to sow the seed…

Reach out…

Stand out…

Reach out…

Indigo Chronicles Chapter 2

1Shall men see only to the horizon?

What lies behind the edge, the limitations and struggles?

2His eyes are more than what is in his head. Must he not enlarge his perspective to include the eyes of his heart and his soul?

3Who will make me a failure by uttering words of doom over my head, because they cannot see beyond what their eyes can see.

4Who will rob my honey because their voices have been turned against the bee to scare them away?

5I am not what you see, I am the Creator’s hand-made and He controls my destiny.

6Shall I be made a fool for the plain reason that someone has spoken to me as though I am?

7I must arise from that place and find where I ought to be; for if the one who leads me cannot see where I ought to be then I am in danger of being blind as I follow a blind.

8Yea, but I have seen good leadership perish as the people were not prepared to follow a good and godly leader but rather trust their old ways of corruption and evil.

9We must now embrace at all times the good and constantly resist the evil less we become acclimatized to the wrongs and find comfort in a wrong place.

10I must honor the voice of God above every other.

11I must see my life through the eyes of God.

Indigo Chronicles Chapter 1

1I have seen a generation of daughters who rebel against their fathers and sons who walk like fools. They have walked away from the foundations of the family and will be rewarded for their waywardness.

2The wicked has used their tongues to lash out against me, tongues they would never use to bless and prosper me. I have seen my own skin turn against me and cause me great pain.

3Shall a man strip his body of his own skin to find comfort and be healed.

4I have seen a son hated by his brother for his successes as he strives for excellence.

5I have seen a farmer increased his herd of pigs, but he is no more who once lived in Portmore for a two-legged pig spilled his blood over his own.

6A wicked generation they have become that shed their own brother’s blood.

7They must be confounded for division eats their soul as acid upon the skin

8I have seen a curbing of our life cycle from vertical greed.

9One man is contented with acquiring more and more while he sucks another man to become a mere skeleton.

10But God is just and will reward every man accordingly.

11My God will shut the mouths of the wicked less they devour the righteous from off the face of the earth.

12All things must praise Him, He is God.

My Chronicles

Today I begin my Chronicles with several chapters and verses, which will be named based on colours e.g. Purple Chronicles, Red Chronicles with various chapters.

In these Chronicles I hope to capture the happenings around me and speak of each of them all with the eye, mind and perspective of the word of God.

Join me on this heart-warming and soul-searching journey as I capture the suss, the sense and non-sense of living in today's world.

If I Could Inspire My Dad

If I could help him to lift his head to the sky

If I could tell him how much influence he has lying within him

Another man of champion

A lion, a man

If I could show him how he can win

If I could inspire him

Stir him to reach higher and higher

If I could show him his wings and be his wind

If I could make him believe that his seed lives on in me, deep within

If I could inspire him to change his thinking so he could embrace a better living

If I could demonstrate how his words live on,

Though I am no longer a child

If I could make him understand that I had no idea just how much I needed to protect my grown up years from my childhood experiences

He inspired me to be better, much better than he has been,

Now it’s my turn to help him be better than he has and always been

If I could inspire my dad,

I would let him know he is one of a kind, the only dad I have ever known,

The only dad I have ever had.
