It is late, but not too late

It is late, but not too late

Do your remember how you felt the last time your arrived late for work, school or church?

Can you imagine what it would be like if that was your very last chance?
What do I mean by that?
Well…Let us suppose because you were late this time around you would no longer be able to participate in school, or you would no longer have a job or be able to go to church anymore…what would that mean for you? What would you do?
It is a frightening thought.

The last time I was late and had to go through a much longer process than normal was just yesterday. I was attending a meeting as a Pension Trustee but was a little over 25 minutes late and so too were some other attendees. The organizers arranged the first set of attendees to park in the main car park area and the remainder to park at another car park located 7 minutes away and then be shuttled back to the meeting auditorium.

To make it even more heart breaking for me, I was not allowed to go in the main meeting room but had to settle for an overflow room with a screen and a speaker box to hear and watch the proceedings in the main auditorium.

The point is I was late, but not too late.

If you look at the world and judge it by the bible’s clock you would recognise that it is late, but not too late.
In Genesis 6:12 it says “…God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth”.
This was the situation just before God destroyed the world with a flood in Noah’s days. It would then be wise of us to realise the very same conditions now exist across the world today. It is late, but not too late. The world is corrupt.

Matthew 24:37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Think about this, only eight persons made it safely in the ark, the rest were too late. Everyone believes they still have time, so they can enjoy the pleasures a little more.

I know I still have time to write a song to help a struggling man, girl, boy or woman.
There is still time to share a word that can bring hope, change a heart and bring new birth.
Surely it is late, but not too late. Some think they still have time, maybe they are right, or maybe they are wrong.
