A stranger is my friend

By J.D. Gordon copyright © 2009 All rights reserved

Long before we crossed each other’s path
Our souls met one day in the park
When alas our voices greeted our ears
This stranger, like a lion tackled my fears

How could this be?
Someone so strange to me
Paid my bail, stand security
So I could go free and become me

How could this be?
Our first meet and we are swimming deep
Wasted no time in removing the cover
So we may venture deeper, even higher

Not many find friendship in a stranger
Though many find a stranger in a friend
A stranger willing to dry my tears
Soothe my wounds, my injuries, share my cares

How could this be?
Someone so strange to me
Paid my bail, stand security
So I could go free and become me

Oh stranger, I hardly know your name
Yet you dig deep to uproot my shame
Treasures and mysteries about me
So sacredly locked away, now made free

I sense my wings are beginning to grow
My halo switched on to glow
White, pure white
This battle I am empowered to fight

How could this be?
Someone so strange to me
Paid my bail, stand security
So I could go free and finally become me
