I need an edge around me
This time not from mine enemy
I need protection and a line of boundary
Against those who love me
I have come to know
Not only does the evil harm me so
But all too often, those who say they love me
With words and deeds
They sometimes deposit bitter seeds
I need an edge around me
This time not from mine enemy
I need protection and a line of boundary
Against those who love me
A dis-functional culture
Breeding added ill-nature
Robs you of your present
And destroys your future
A fence to help me
Nurture that which is within me
From hostility and strife, set free
‘Tis my earnest plea
Oh Lord, build an edge around me

A Father's Heart
A father gives lovely gifts to help his children grow
A father provides food and books and tells them what they ought to know
A father’s work is dear to him so it’s never done
At times he forgets he needs a break, relaxation, and time for fun
Like a child and his toy
A father pursue his joy
Gifts for dad are hard to find
Because daddy you are special, one of a kind
We’ve tried getting you gifts of varying amounts
But now we know, it really is the thought, the heart that counts

Is your PHONE on?
Four times I tried calling you and four times I got your voicemail…
Seven times I sent you messages and you didn’t return my call…
Sometimes I get a busy signal…
At other times I get your voicemail and your inbox is full…
I began wondering if I would soon get the ‘out of service’ response…
Finally I eventually got to you and told you what I wanted…
Shared with you my expectations of you…
Wrote to you and explained my purpose, my plan…
You agreed and promised to do it…
I called…you answered…I told you what to do…you promised you would…
I awaited your fulfillment of your promise; you gave up, saying you can’t do it…
So I am sending you this blog to tell you I AM STILL WAITING FOR YOU
For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

Give Me Something More
I desired
I anticipated
with eagerness
excitement blazed
from all corners of my head

In sync – Faith and Hope
We‘ll dance even when the music stops
We’ll sing even when the song has come to an end
We’ll paint even when there is no more ink
We are committed to going all the way
We are determined to persevere until something beyond the ordinary happens
We’ll continue even when all logical reason to persist has been lost
We’ll sing even when the song has come to an end
We’ll paint even when there is no more ink
We are committed to going all the way

We’ll continue even when all logical reason to persist has been lost

I love your bits and pieces
It is not easy to love all the small details about some of the people around us.
Whenever we spend time with some folkes we gradually but eventually realise how much we can’t stand little things about them.
It is for this reason that the second commandment in the Old Testament says we should love our neighbour as ourselves. The truth is many people find it difficult to even love themselves, so those of us who are having hang ups over these persons need to understand this message. As long as the person is not able to love him or herself they are going to have difficulty loving others.
Furthermore, have you ever noticed just how easy it is to love the people you love and similarly how easy it is to hate the people you hate?
Well, that is why it is repeated by Jesus in the New Testament when He said, ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’.
Who is our neighbour? Our neighbour is more than the person who lives next door. Our neighbour speaks of everyone, including our enemies.
"You have heard that it was said, `Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:43-48, NIV)
The reason God sends the rain on the good and the bad, the just and the unjust is that He is a perfect and Holy God. He also desires for us to be perfect and holy.
We are therefore being called to love the bits and pieces about each other, as difficult as that may be.
The next time you have an encounter where you would react unpleasant to your neighbour, love them. Love their bits and pieces, though tough it may be. You can do it with God’s help. Though I don’t fully agree with some of the things people do around me, I must still love their bits and pieces.
